Helo seba, when i will install this plugin, then come this errormessage:

very shortly, the purpose it’s to cheat certain trackers, reporting to them that you use X client instead of azureus (X=the client you choose, ie: utorrent).

first you must deinstall an older version !!!
with this plugin, you can use azureus on tracker, where azureus is banned :-)

after deinstallation, it works really fine ;-)
delete the older version in plugin folder, before installation the new one

im stuppy, i can not install the clientspoofplugin, i have uninstall the old version an than i install the new verson- i become this errormessage:

nah, dont work seba. tried to reinstall old, remove and install the new, same errors appears. i’ll try later :P

tried with another pc with clean install, same errors appears, so it’s not my azureus config. install old version and remove it, then install new, do not solve the problem. Old v2.3 works, the one posted here, is not.

It’s very easy.. First you download an old (working) version:

Then you download this (New) one, for the lazy guys here:

Now the tricky part..
first thing to do is to open the downloaded archive (clientspoof2.2.jar) with winrar (or similar unpack program) and take the “plugin.properties” (without the quotes).
And you drag that file into the second downloaded archive (clientspoof2.3.2.jar). When it askes overwrite? then answer “Yes” (without the quotes) :P
And presto it works :D
(I hope this is a little noob proof :P)

Owh btw this took me 5min to figure out..
Pure luck I Guess, but the “plugin.properties” is really messed up a few bytes thats why azureus doesnt like the plugin

Ohw btw sry to spam like this, but Clientspoof + Azureus + Tor doesnt go well here..
So if someones useing the Tor-network for theyre Tracker communications and using clientspoof + it works.. then plz tell me how

if deinstallation not work, go to installdir of azureus and delete the clientspoof.jar in the plugin folder.
then start azureus and install the new version :-)

yes I already figured it out, however, I dont know why but if I choose utorrent 1.6.0.0 as spoofed client, my torrents wont start downloading. They start if I choose another one (ie: mainline torrent). Pretty strange o_O;

Ah of course, thanks seba14. On the other side, as most of you already know, azureus 2.5 is ufficially out. Seba14, can you please tell me if shu will release another mod (or if you already know something about it)?

All removing, instaalation & deinstall failed for me.
AcidDCool suggested procedure works (i.e. it changes the client name within properties to ClientSpoof2.3 - and not 2.3.2).
I suggest to distribute a “fixed” (after suggested procedure) jar file.

Be carefull when using this.
You only spoof to tracker and not other peers so on sites where Azureus is banned you will get caught still!

seba14, if you’re interested i’ve decompiled and fixed the whole stuff. Added az 2.5.0.0 spoof and fixed utorrent 1.6.0.0 (now works).
tell me if you’re interested and i’ll upload it.

@popo - ut 1.6.0 is my prefered spoofed (since almost all trackers works with it), however with the fixed “2.3.2″ it’s no good (it fails to connect to seeders). Besides the “fixed” shows only part of the clients it should.
Never the less I want to express my 10′x to seba for his wonderfull site and his endless efforts to bring the most worthy stuff.

@ran: that’s why i asked, same stuff happens to me.
Anyway who code this plugin has forgot to remove a couple of lines. I checked the code now and it works, however, the spoof only works with the tracker only. The clients will continue seeing you as Azureus 2.2.0.4, no matter what.
@andre: at the moment i cant post here since I dont have seba14’s permission. However version posted here works, just decompress it with winrar then recompress it in zip, change extention and it’s done.

I`m on the Shu site and he confirms the PEER spoof is still on going.
This will only work to crappy clients but to utorrent users eg it will show you as using azureus even when spoofed as something else.
He is on it though and a true PEER spoof will be a milstone!

Helo, I have this versions : Azureus 2.4.0.2 - seba Hacked Shu Mod 2.0.1.171 - and the clientspoofversion 2.3.2 can i not install. Is the problem maybie the Azureusversion? PLEASE HELP ME! Andre
